This title was originally officially released in North America.\u00a0 However, it has now been long <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span>out-of-<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span>print and fetching ridiculously high prices in the collector market.\u00a0 We are happy to be able to provide this great selection at a reasonable price.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span><\/span>“Formed in 1967 by ex-“Blues Project” member, Al Kooper, “Blood, Sweat & Tears” quickly became regarded as one of the most promising of all the late 60’s rock bands.\u00a0 The pioneering fusion of jazz and rock captured the imagination of the critics and their first album “Child Is Father To The Man” became a sleeper hit.\u00a0 Organist, singer, Kooper had insisted on the status of band-leader but the other band members wanted a committed lead singer and by the end of the decade Kooper had been replaced by David Clayton-Thomas.<\/span><\/p>\n

The band released three more albums “Blood, Sweat & Tears 1, 2 & 3” and, despite massive sales and chart success, they eventually alienated some early fans and music critics who thought they were selling out (they played on a State Department sponsored tour, appeared at Caesar’s Palace In Las Vegas and supplied the soundtrack to the movie comedy “The Owl And The Pussycat”.)\u00a0 By this time “BS&T” had sold over a million albums but the ensuing turmoil led to the band splitting in 1978.\u00a0 However in 1980 David Clayton-Thomas reformed the group, went back on the road and recorded a final studio album “Nuclear Blues”.<\/span><\/p>\n

This DVD features archive footage of that reformed Blood, Sweat & Tears line-up live at the Halifax Theatre in Halifax, U.K. on April 9, 1980.\u00a0 The line up is David Clayton-Thomas, Richard Martinez, David Piltch, Keith Seymour, Robert Economou, Stanley Cassidy and Vernon Dorge.\u00a0 Playing in front ofa sell-out audience to band perform many classics from their heyday (including “Spinning Wheel”, “You Make Me So Very Happy” and “Hi De Ho”) and demonstrate why, even today, they are celebrated as, not only the first, but the greatest jazz \/ rock fusion band of all time.”<\/span><\/p>\n
