The Four Tops 1970
<\/span>French TV show, Pop Deux.  September 1970.  Great quality.  The Four Tops are seen rehearsing for a TV show.  There is no audience present, just the band and TV production crew.  The large band is tight and powerful.  The Four Tops rehearse their stage moves and blocking for a camera shots.  It’s interesting because they finish a big number but there’s no applause.  Excellent music and performances.<\/p>\n

Aretha Franklin 1971
<\/span>French TV show, Pop Deux.  Live concert.  June 1971.  Great quality.  Aretha Franklin is at the top of her game as she knocks the crowd out with powerful and soulful performances.  She moves from microphone with backing girl group, the Sweethearts of Soul, to piano where she proves she’s a terrific player.<\/p>\n

The songs are stretched long with a lot of soul stirring for thel live audience.  In the end she moves along the foot of the stage touching the audience’s hands while singing, “Reach Out and Touch (Somebody’s Hand)”.  The audience is in heaven.<\/p>\n

Songs include: “Say A Little Prayer”, “A Brand New Me”, “Don’t Play That Song”, “Dr. Feelgood”, “Spirit In The Dark”, “Reach out and Touch (Somebody’s Hand)”.  Note: End short, just seconds from the ending.<\/p>\n

Mama Cass on Hollywood Palace (with Sammy Davis Jr)
<\/span>U.S. TV show, November 1969.  Great quality.  Mama Cass and Sammy perform the Peter, Paul and Mary song “I Dig ROck and Roll Msuci” with the lyrics rewritten to pay homage to black musical artists including: Ike & Tina Turner, James Brown, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin and others.<\/p>\n
