Various Artists – It’s Little Richard (1 NTSC DVD-R disc)

$22.00

It’s Little Richard 1964.  U.K. TV show.  Jan-8-64.  4:3 aspect ratio.  Granada TV.

Little Richard is immaculate in his sleek 1960’s tailored suit and skinny tie.  He rocks the British kids (and adults too, Jimmy Saville is in the audience).  He’s got ’em in the palm of his hand as they enthusiastically clap and respond to is shout of, “well A-l-l-R-i-g-h-t!”  The Shirelles look and sound terrific; sexy 1964 style!  Sounds Incorporated plays a tight, chunka-chunka backing rhythm.

Classic Little Richard legwork and keyboard pounding!  When Richard breaks into “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On”, the audience pours out of their seats, jams the floor/stage area and begins shaking and shimmying wildly!

Little Richard sings, “I’ve Got the Joy Joy Joy Joy” with the Shirelles providing backup and harmonies.  Songs include: Little Richard: “Rip It Up”, “Lucille”, “Long Tall Sally”, “Send Me Some Lovin”, “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On”, “Hound Dog”, “Good Golly Miss Molly”, “Tutti Fruitti”, “Jenny Jenny”.  The Shirelles: “Everbody Loves A Lover”, “Will You Love Me Tomorrow”.

Ted Mack’s Amateur Hour 1956
U.S. TV show. Excellent quality.  4:3 aspect ratio.  Legendary rockabilly band Johnny Burnette and the Rock and Roll Trio play a very raw version of “Hound Dog”.  Heavy Rockabilly Baby! Johnny’s got his hair greased back perfectly!

There are several cool acts.  A “Swing” Harpest plays, “Birth Of The Blues”.  Four N.Y. teenagers who call themselves The Royalaires, pound out a dual-sax version of “Shake Rattle and Roll” while they roll all over the stage!  An Amazing yodeler… he’s so amazing, he’s kinda weird!  A black vocal group from Philadelphia, The Dynatones sing, “I Only Have Eyes For You”.
