1957 Dec-18-57. U.S. TV show. WFIL Channel 6 in Philadelphia w/ original commercials. Lots of Christmas songs and terrific 1950s rock n roll and doo wop! The teenagers look great! Georgia Gibbs visits. Lots of interaction between Dick and the famous original “regulars.”

The kids dance to: Sam Cooke, Frankie Lymon, Fats Domino, Silhouettes, Danny and The Juniors, Bobby Helms and many others.

Commercials: 7-Up, Frank Sinatra TV special and Pat Boone pitching his “Chevy Show.” Classic TV.

AMERICAN BANDSTAND DOCUMENTARY (1996 U.S.)
A look back and the beginning of AB and the Philadelphia years ’52-’64. Featured spotlight on the kids who made the show. Great vintage footage of the teenage “regulars” and behind the scenes look at a classic 1950s & 1960s teenage institution.

Video Quality:  Quality for original 1957 episode is pretty good B&W quality, about an 8.0 or close to it, using our website Quality Rating Table.  1996 documentary is in very good quality, about an 8.5.
