Created by TCN-9 executive Bruce Gyngell and modelled on the successful American musical/variety show of the same name, Bandstand was hosted by the ever-charming Brian Henderson and set the TV standard for 14 entertaining years, showcasing the very best of Australian and international Pop and Rock ‘N’ Roll music of the 60s and 70s.

Taking the classic show on the road to Perth’s glorious George Temple-Poole designed Capitol Theatre in 1965, Bandstand Live features an all-star cast of true blue Aussie performances devling deep into the 60s songbook to celebrate the very best of popular music.  Including knockout performances from Billy Thorpe and The Aztecs, Paul Wayne, Max Merritt And The Meteors, Jade Hurley, Lynne Randell, Bryan Davies, Ray Brown and The Whispers, Digger Revell and Merv Benton.

A two part concert spectacular, capturing the electric atomosphere of 1965 – featuring footage of Jade Hurley’s collapse from nervous exhaustion and Max Merritt steppin in to the keep the show going – Bandstand live at the Capitol Theatre is a classic trip back to a time when music defined an era.
