Peter Gabriel performs career-spanning classic tracks radically re-invented in “Taking The Pulse”, a once-in-a-lifetime concert exerience from the pop lgend and 2014 Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame inductee.  Teaming with New Blood Orchestra, Gabriel and arranger John Metcalfe remolded each of his greatest hits and most beloved songs into new orchestral arrangements.  The resulting live concert was filmed in the magnificent open air setting of the Arena di Verona, Italy on September 26th, 2010.  “Taking The Pulse” takes you front row as Gabriel and the 50-piece orchestra captivate the 20,000 fans rocking the nearly 2,000 year-old amphitheater!  Bathed in light from huge screens projecting striking animations, Gabriel changes gear and mood effortlessly; building to the furious maelstrom that concludes the opening song “The Rhythm Of The Heat”, accentuating the creeping melancholy inherent in “Intruder” bursting into joyous abandon for a triumphantly upbeat “Solsbury Hill” – the orchestra matching his timing and talent note for note.  This unique concert film feels both intimate and thrilling in scale – and is a must-see for any fan.
