The Doo Wop Sound (2002) 
Canadian Documentary.  From the cotton fields to Sonny Till and Orioles and the Ravens, the origins of doo wop and 4 & 5 part group harmony is explained.  Early doo wop themes focused on “adult” subjects.  Later in the mid-50’s, the themes focused on teenagers, young love and innocence.  Terriffic rare vintage footage from soundies, concerts and TV shows.  Interviews include Jimmy Merchant (the Teenagers), Earl “Speedo” Carroll (the Cadillacs), Arlene Smith (the Chantels), Pookie Hudson (the Spaniels) and many others!
