Quality:  This is a pretty darn good historical recording.  Someone was wise enough to record the Beatles before they were famous in the small Star Club in Hamburg, Germany in late 1962.  A big appeal of this title is that they perform a lot of cover songs that they never did later on when they were famous.  For example, they sing Gene Vincent’s “Be-Bop-A-Lula”, Tommy Roe’s “Sheila”, Chuck Berry’s “Sweet Little Sixteen” and more.  Also very cool is that it includes Cavern Club rehearsals, which we have never heard before.

These recordings have been around for quite awhile, but never in this quality.  Using AI, the sound as been enhanced, so that the instrumentation and vocals are for the most part quite clear.  Disc One is an excellent sounding small club audience recording (for it’s time).  Disc Two is pretty good, but not a good as Disc One.  Please do keep in mind that while we say that this is a big improvement over previous releases, it still is an audience recording, with a bit of echo, so do not expect 2025 soundboard quality. Since the big selling feature of this title is Disc One, we are selling this 2 disc set for the 1 disc price of $22.00.  We are certain that Beatles fans will enjoy this rare treasure.
