This is a great DVD offering great value, almost 4 1/2 hours on one single disc AND considering how long it is, the quality is still surprisingly good. This is a wonderful opportunity to see some of Johnny Winter’s earlier performances.

Detroit Tubeworks Live In Studio (1971) (54 minutes)
A partnership between Detroit’s WABX Rock Radio & local TV Channel 62 was America’s first Rock ‘n’ Roll show simulcast on FM Rdio.  Spontaneous, unrehearsed & off-the-cuff, it broadcast to Detroit a format of interviews combined with music from rock musicians of the day.  On August 16, 1970, Johnny Winter and his bassist Randy Hobbs showed up for a 4:00am. show after their free concert in Ann Arbor.  During the interview between songs Johnny talks about the current state of Rock ‘N’ Roll, his new band and the direction their music is going.  Edgar’s Band and their differences, plus more.
