Beat-Club was a German music program that ran from September 1986 to December 1972.  It was broadcast from Bremen, Germany on Erstes Deutsches Femsehen, the national public TV channel of the ARD, produced by one of it’s members, Radio Bremen, later co-produced by WDR following the 38th episode.

It is notable for being the first German show to be based around popular music featuring artists like Frank Zappa, the Rolling Stones, Gene Pitney, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Ike & Tina Turner, The Who, Black Sabbath, The Bee Gees, The Beach Boys and Kraftwerk in its seven-year run.  In 1972, it was updated and renamed “Musikladen”.

Performances from the show can now been seen occasionally on VH1 Classic with reruns also airing in several European countries.  Several DVD collections featuring highlights of the show have also been released in the past.  Now you can finally own virtually all of the episodes that ever aired with Volumes 1, 2 & 3 of “The Story of Beat Club”.  Note: Only a very few episodes are not included due to copyright restrictions, most notably the Beatles appearances.
